LDS Tour 9. Tulum Ruins and ATV Road Adventure
Enhance your Tulum Mayan ruins tour and add a dose of adrenaline with our ATV Road Adventure! On this excursion, our expert tour guides combine a spiritual and educational experience with a fun and nerve-racking ride through the jungle on ATV´s.
We first start our trip at Tulum Mayan Ruins, where we learn about the Descending God and the similarities with the beliefs of the ancient inhabitants of the lands of the Book of Mormon.
Then, we take off to the Riviera Maya to our ATV activity where we choose our four-wheelers and strap on our helmets, turn on our motors and drive in the thick sub-tropical jungle through vines, trees, and caverns on dirt and mud trails. And last but not least, a refreshing Cenote awaits for you to jump in and cool off!
This tour also includes lunch. For details, please read below.
Tulum is the home of the Descending God. The Descending God has been so named by the archaeological community because he is always shown with his feet in the air as if he is descending from the sky. Many people, including anthropologists, archaeologists, and guides have erroneously stated that the Descending God is found only in Tulum. This has been done out of ignorance – or in some cases, a simple desire to skirt the entire issue of the Descending God and what he potentially represents.
ATV Road Adventure
Meet at the Riviera Maya to start the ATV expedition through the jungle, all the way to a completely dark and exciting cave. This cave is a 5-minute hike into the jungle from the trail. Once inside, the use of lanterns will be necessary to walk through, and admire the ancient rock formations as it is completely dark. The expedition continues back to an ATV ride up to a beautiful Cenote for some pictures, swim or just take a little break. The trip ends after a ride along the beach to the Ranch. Afterward, you could choose to end the day, or just spend the rest of the day at the beach.
Minimum age for ATV activity is six years old.
Driver must be 16 years of age or older.
Helmets and goggles are provided.
Pregnant women are not allowed to do ATV activity. A waiting area is available.
