Río Secreto Classic Tour

Explore the incredible Mayan ruins at Tulum with an expert LDS guide that will not only share the history of the site, but will also explain how the Mayan civilization and shares many common characteristics as the people from the Book of Mormon. Enhance your scripture study this amazing Book of Mormon themed tour of Tulum Mayan ruins and add a refreshing plunge into a natural Cenote; but not just any, try the world-famous RIO SECRETO underground river system. An excellent place to cool off and to enjoy the natural wonders of the Yucatan peninsula. Our tour begins at your hotels front lobby from 7:00 am to 8:00 am depending on you location. We then enjoy a fantastic a scenic drive down to Tulum and a fabulous commentary from your tour guide as he shares interesting facts and useful tips about the area. The drive to Tulum may vary depending on your hotel location (from 45mins to 1.5hrs). Upon arrival, we enjoy a 1.5-hour guided tour.

Come with us on a magical journey through the crystal museum that is Río Secreto, where the history of our planet is written on the myriad geological formations, and where floating in its crystal-clear fresh water your life will change forever. In this surreal locale near Playa del Carmen you can observe natural history dating back millions of years, as you hike and swim through a route of about 1 km full of beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Go deep inside an underground cave, where you'll experience true silence among some of the most dramatic mineral formations in the world.

  1. 7AM – 8:00 AM: Pick-up at your hotel or resort's front lobby (times may vary depending on your location). Pick-up times are scheduled one day before departure.
  2. Drive to Tulum Ruins (drive time may be 45 mins to 1.5hrs depending on your location).
  3. 8:00-8:30 AM: Arrival to Tulum Ruins and restroom break.
  4. Enjoy a fascinating tour of the ruins for 1.5 to 2hrs approximately, free time included.
  5. 10:45AMArrival to RIO SECRETO PARK.
  6. 11:00AMEnjoy a series of adventure activities at RIO SECRETO PARK.
  7. Duration: 3:30 hrs.
  8. 2:30 PMReturn to Hotel: Return to Hotel (drive time 45 minutes to 1.5hrs depending on your hotel's location).

Blew Away Expectations

Our tour of Tulum with Heber4Ever and Alma’s LDS Tours was absolutely perfect in every way! The early start time was ideal — we completely beat the crowds and had the site almost to ourselves. Heber is incredibly knowledgeable about the Mayan people, their history, and the Tulum site itself. We especially appreciated how he thoughtfully highlighted perspectives from an LDS viewpoint without ever assuming or speculating beyond what evidence supports. That balance made the experience both spiritually enriching and historically grounded.
